New Farm Babies on White Cottage Farm

Well, in true White Cottage Farm style, we by no means do something so as or on the proper time. Why not add an animal to the farm in the midst of the busiest spring season on the farm ever? Why not add the animal 6 years in to farming when it’s the primary animal individuals normally add? Why not add the animal earlier than you might have it’s home constructed? Those are all nice questions & I want I may reply you, however all I can say is, White Cottage Farm formally has chickens!!!

& a couple of different birds. We now have added guinea hens, pheasents, Americanas, & Oliver Eggers. That’s the place we began. We acquired them within the mail a couple of weeks in the past really & like many issues going on proper now I haven’t shared them. We have had so many issues taking place, tasks, spring farm prep, births, & even house renovation that I’ve not shared currently… however guess what? I’m getting again within the rythm of  posting, sharing, & documenting what we’re as much as. I believe I simply wanted a little bit break there. Back to the birds & the progress of a house we’ve got for them…

Did that birds traveled within the mail? Before transferring to a farm I positive didn’t. All the birds arrived secure & sound & grew to become Cope’s new obsession straight away. He has his “chicken chores” day by day & is comfortable to do them which is enjoyable to see him rising up on the farm & study so many new issues day by day.

Where are they dwelling? Well for his or her first few weeks of life we had them beneath warmth lamps within the tiny greenhouse within the backyard. it was the right dimension for them to cozy up & begin to develop greater. Just a few days in the past we acquired a rooster coop within the mail that we had ordered & we simply acquired it put collectively this previous weekend. Their little house will really sit in a brand new backyard we’re presently constructing right here on the farm. We have our kitchen backyard off our again patio & this backyard can be past that subsequent to our sheep pasture, barn, & the brand new greenhouse [that I have to share yet]. The backyard will take time. We need to construct a fence, construct the beds, full the second coop [unfinished building next to the silo], & rather more. Stay tuned for these tasks. I like that our little new coop from this homestead supplier [HERE] seems out onto the sheep & alpacas from their little coop. We simply acquired it put collectively this previous weekend & now it wants some paint and extra “white cottage farm” touches.

For now the infants are cosy as a bug contained in the coop & they’re all rising like weeds. Be positive to comply with me over on Instagram to see extra of the behind the scenes & see extra of the infants. I can’t wait to share these infants with you as they develop & I can’t anticipate them to offer us eggs & maintain the bugs on the farm. I don’t know what took us so lengthy so as to add chickens to the farm, however I’m so excited we did now!

We will be happy to hear your thoughts
